Brandon was born in Manhattan to Peter and Holly Russo. Brandon grew up in Westport, CT where he attended elementary school and continued on at Fairfield Country Day School graduating in 2007. He was an active and beloved member of the Southern Connecticut athletic community and played youth hockey for the Mid Fairfield Blues, capturing a USA Hockey Tier I National Championship in 2007. Brandon graduated high school from the prestigious Salisbury School in Salisbury, CT where he was awarded many hockey accolades and during the 2009 season his team won the New England Prep School Championship. Brandon later went on to play in the USHL for the Indiana Ice and Youngstown Phantoms.

Brandon was a proud graduate of Penn State University, graduating in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics. Brandon continued to be an avid Nittany Lion fan, sharing many weekends of memories with friends and family in Happy Valley.

Brandon was employed by Empire Wealth Strategies as a Financial Professional offering solutions to high net-worth individuals, families and corporate clients.

Brandon will be remembered for his kind heart and giving endlessly of himself to others. He was a beloved leader in the youth hockey community and was admired by all young players that he helped develop and inspire over the years. Those that he coached meant everything to him and he often said it was the most rewarding job he could ever hold.

Brandon is survived by his beloved Father Peter, Mother Holly and Sister Rebecca; Grandfather Joseph "Poppy" Russo; Aunts Denise Connors and Pamela Mayewski; Uncle Larry Mayewski; and Cousins Matthew, Bryan, and Brody. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Marie and Roger "Rogio" Gagne and Grandmother Eleanor Russo.
