Condolence & Memory Journal

Steveand Laurawere students of mine at Cal Poly Pomona. They were exceptional CPP grads. Both excellent students and wonderful people, they have, in their life's journey, made those of us at the university very proud. Steve was such a good father and husband. His Facebook postings (particularly with his girls), which I always sought out, were unrivaled, revealing a joy and humanity unmatched in social media. My wife Linda and I had such a marvelous dinner together with the Einhorns during our last stay in NYC, and we were looking forward to getting together again once we could get back to the city that Steve so understood and loved. He long will remain in our memories.

I write this with true sadness and humility. I only knew Steven for a short time since he joined Brown Rudnick and our relationship was mostly in a professional capacity. But, there were a few moments where I got to glimpse the man behind the most competent ERISA partner I ever worked with -snatches of conversation on calls after we finished with business and a long walk on the beach at our last retreat. I was impressed with Steven's intelligence, patience and general decency and the way he was able to balance and prioritize his life. His passing is a major loss to the firm, but that pales to the loss suffered by his family and those who knew him well outside of work. I am sorry that I did not get the opportunity to know him even better.

Steve was my Pastor first. He preached my husbands memorial service. He and Laura became a son and daughter to me way back before they married. I have followed their many adventures in life, the greatest is their love and devotion to each other and their precious daughters. Steve was an amazing Father He gave his children a wonderful foundation of love and attention . They will go far in life. Sweet Laura, Katie and Elizabeth , you are always in my prayers and love.

We don't really know each other, but I want to let you know that I feel your pain and I am praying to God to comfort your heart. I am Elise Barriga's mom from Pre-K and I put myself at your disposal for anything you need.
May God bless your family!
