I knew Carmen when we were teenagers working at the Seaview pool in Canarsie. I remember the joy and love in her home, her parents and brother. Carmen's smile in this photo, so beautiful, is the same as from all the years past, and reminds me particularly of a day that she was in a fashion show. I don't know what prompted me to look for her online yesterday. The loving comments describe the same young person that I knew so long ago. She was a friend that I would have loved to keep forever.

To Carmen's Family,

I knew Carmen as part of the Children First company. Carmen was a consummate professional. She loved children, the work, and her colleagues. She made the work seem less like work. The world has been a better place for Carmen having been here.

With deep sympathy and love,
Joey Gustafson

Darling Nicole,

Your mother was the definition of the life well lived. The world benefited from her joy in living and is a sadder place now that her light is extinguished.

You and your children will grow in love and joy inspired by your mother's example.

We send you and your family our deepest condolences and wish you peace and serenity in all the years to come.

Love,

Mary Wademan
